India Bomb Blast Kills 7; Separatists Blamed

GAUHATI, India —
Seven people were killed and at least 14 injured Tuesday by a bomb blast at a railroad station in Assam state. Police said tribal extremists demanding a separate Bodoland carved out of the northeast Indian state are thought to be responsible.
The All-Bodo Students Union has been spearheading the fight for a separate state within India, the latest in a series of such struggles that have plagued the seven northeast Indian states in recent years.
