Share

Stanley Larson, a veteran member of the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations and longtime newspaper publisher in Claremont, died at his home there June 13. He was 82 and had lived in the Claremont area since 1922 and had published the Claremont Courier until 1955.

In 1954, he was named to the Human Relations Commission, one of the oldest of such groups in the country, said Dr. Roger Ragan, its assistant executive director.

“Mr. Larson was one of the longest serving if not the longest of all our commissioners.”

The commission was established in 1944.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil; a daughter, two sons, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
