Local : Police Check School Vandalism

School police are investigating a series of possible end-of-the-year vandalism pranks at two high schools in Woodland Hills, authorities said today.

The vandalism, discovered since last weekend, includes the cutting down of four trees at El Camino Real High School and the moving of furniture and the abandoning of a sheep at Taft High School.

At El Camino Real, in the 5400 block of Valley Circle Boulevard, staff members found windows of some classrooms painted and four trees cut down in a courtyard Monday morning, Principal Martin King said. Three of the trees were more than 30 feet tall, and the fourth was an oak tree recently planted in memory of a teacher who died this year.

Taft Principal Ron Berz said staff members this morning found outdoor benches and tables stacked in a courtyard at the school at Winnetka Avenue and Ventura Boulevard. A sheep was also found along with a sign that said Class of ’89. He said sunflower seeds were found strewn around school rooms.
