Romero, meanwhile, joins forces with director Dario Argento to update two vintage Edgar Allan Poe tales next month, also in Pittsburgh. Romero’s segment, “The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar,” casts Adrienne Barbeau as the wife of an insanely jealous man, while Argento reworks “The Black Cat,” with a news reporter as the feline-phobe.
