Chang Gets Centre Court Opener
Michael Chang, the Placentia teen-ager who won the French Open only two weeks ago, has been rewarded with a Centre Court match when Wimbledon begins Monday.
Chang, who at 17 is the youngest winner of a Grand Slam title, will play Bill Scanlon in the third match.
Defending champion Stefan Edberg, beaten by Chang in the French final, plays the opening game on Centre Court against Canadian Chris Pridham and will be followed by former champion Jimmy Connors against Andrei Cherkasov of the Soviet Union.
