Mafioso Tripped Up by His Love of Soccer

PESCARA, Italy — A suspected Mafia member who had been on the run for three years let his love of soccer get the best of him Sunday, and he wound up behind bars.
Francesco Lacava, wanted for organizing building rackets and laundering kidnap ransoms in Reggio Calabria, came out of hiding to watch Reggina, his favorite team, in a playoff match.
After police tracked him to the soccer stadium and arrested him in mid-game, all Lacava said was, “Dammit, I’ll miss the match!”
