The Kings released goaltender Roland Melanson and left winger Gilles Hamel.
Melanson was acquired from the New York Rangers in a 1985 trade, but spent most of last season with the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate in New Haven, Conn. Hamel joined the Kings in 1985 on a trade from the Winnipeg Jets but also spent the majority of last season in New Haven.
The Kings also signed forwards Kyosti Karjalainen and Mikael Lindholm, both of Sweden.
