9 Die in Philippine Clash

MANILA —
Government troops clashed with Communist guerrillas in a village near the U.S.-run Clark Air Base, and eight rebels and a government soldier were killed, the military reported Sunday.
Four soldiers were wounded in the battle Saturday near Angeles City, 50 miles northwest of Manila.
