Armas Is Named Angel of the Week

Tony Armas, who hit three home runs in four games last week, is The Times’ Orange County Edition Angel of the Week.

Armas had 11 hits in 19 at-bats last week (.579) with five RBIs and raised his batting average to .439. The veteran outfielder, who turned 36 Sunday, has a slugging percentage of .805 and is averaging a home run every eight at-bats.

The Times will donate $200 in Armas’ name to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Orange County.
