The lawyer defending accused mass killer Ramon Salcido said his client has withdrawn a request to a judge that his surviving daughter, Carmina, 3, be placed with relatives in Mexico. Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Arnold Rosenfeld presided at a closed-door custody hearing at which Salcido was present under tight security, Deputy Public Defender William Marioni said. Salcido, 28, has pleaded innocent to the killing of seven people, including his wife and two of his daughters, during a rampage April 14. The bodies of the two girls, and Carmina, who was near death, were found at a county dump with their throats cut. Carmina recovered after four weeks in a hospital.
