Body of Fisherman, 67, Found in Aqueduct
The body of a Los Angeles man who fell into the California Aqueduct near Gorman on Tuesday was found 20 miles downstream by fishermen Thursday morning, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Willie Clark, 67, had been missing since 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when a companion saw him fall into the aqueduct while the two were fishing, Deputy Detta Roberts said. Sheriff’s rescue crews were unable to find the man in the rapidly moving water and abandoned their search Wednesday.
Fishermen discovered the body floating in the aqueduct near 80th Street West, near Palmdale.
