Talk about a Dynamic Duo! According to industry projections made Sunday, Warner Bros.’ “Lethal Weapon 2” and “Batman” split more than $40 million in box office grosses between them over the weekend. “Lethal Weapon 2” sold about $20.5 million worth of tickets, while “Batman,” bumped from the No. 1 spot for the first time since it opened, brought in another $19 million. The Warner Bros. pair nearly tripled the business generated by the twosome from Disney (“Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” did about $9 million, “Dead Poets Society” added another $5 million), and was four times that of the combined efforts of Columbia’s “Ghostbusters II” ($5.4 million) and “The Karate Kid III” ($4.5 million). 20th Century Fox’s “Weekend at Bernie’s,” the only major studio newcomer, grossed an estimated $4.6 million.
