Three students from Santa Ana’s Valley High School are the only Orange County representatives traveling to Washington July 23 to take part in a weeklong conference designed to encourage young Latinos to pursue careers in the health professions.
Maria Vargas, 14, Teresa Flores, 15, and Nicki Acuna, 17, are among 40 juniors and seniors in the nation who will take part in the trip organized by the National Hispanic Youth Initiative in Health and Policy Development.
The initiative was developed by the InterAmerican College of Physicians and Surgeons.
