Three East German soccer players who defected from their team in Sweden have arrived in West Germany, according to the Bild newspaper. The three reported to the West German consulate in Goteborg Wednesday and were put on board a boat that took them to the West German port of Kiel. Bild printed a photograph of the three walking away from the ship.
Bild identified the three as Jens Koenig, 24; Andre Koehler, 24, and Thomas Weiss, 21. The report said the three hope to continue their careers in West Germany.
