Trans World Airlines, responding to a lawsuit and complaints from homosexuals, has agreed to allow frequent flier credit to be transferred to any companion, not just relatives. Members of TWA’s frequent flier program are being notified of the new policy in a mailing now under way, the New York Times reported in today’s editions. The airline had required people who earned free tickets to use the tickets themselves or transfer them to relatives, in an attempt to prevent people from selling or bartering tickets. Gay groups said TWA was the last major airline to drop its limiting policy, the newspaper said.
