PITTSBURGH —
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Gregg Carr has retired to pursue graduate studies in engineering.
Carr, 27, was one of only a few Steelers to miss mini-camp this year because he was attending graduate school in Alabama.
A four-year veteran, Carr was the Steelers’ sixth-round draft choice in 1985. He played in 57 games, with seven starts, at outside and inside linebacker. He made 61 tackles.
Carr graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Auburn.
