General Dynamics Corp.: The St. Louis aerospace and defense firm said second-quarter net income rose to $58.4 million from $46.7 million a year ago. Revenue climbed to $2.5 billion from $2.4 billion. The firm said the latest quarter’s results include an after-tax charge of $50 million associated with the SSN 688-Class attack submarine program at its Electric Boat division, compared to a $33-million charge a year ago.
