Weyerhaeuser Co.: The Tacoma, Wash., diversified firm said second-quarter net earnings rose 3% to $155 million. Revenue advanced to $2.64 billion from $2.44 billion in the same period of 1988. The company said the pulp and paper markets continue to be strong although there is some discounting taking place in newsprint and other paper products. Forest product sales remain at a high level, and earnings of Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Co. continue to improve.
