Judge John Holschuh of the U.S. District Court in Columbus, Ohio, informed attorneys for Cincinnati Red Manager Pete Rose and baseball Commissioner Bart Giamatti that he will hear oral arguments Thursday on the question of whether Rose’s lawsuit against Giamatti should be heard by a federal or state court.

Attorneys for the two sides have already filed written briefs, but a decision by Holschuh is not expected until next week.
