The Los Angeles city attorney’s office filed criminal charges Wednesday against a San Fernando Valley travel promoter who allegedly charged customers for $8,805 in airline tickets that they never received.
Hisham Abul Kheir, 31, of Granada Hills was charged with five counts of grand theft and 17 violations of the California Business and Professions Code.
According to the city attorney’s office, Kheir operated his business at two locations: International Travel Consortium at 15130 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, and Tickets International at 16223 Devonshire St., Granada Hills.
A warrant carrying $25,000 bail was issued Wednesday for Kheir’s arrest.
Kheir was accused of swindling five people out of money for tickets that he said would be delivered to them by mail or messenger. The victims said the tickets never arrived.
