Fouts & Son to Team for Charger Exhibitions

Dan Fouts, who once snapped at his sportscaster father in a crowded postgame locker room because a microphone was too close to his face, will now join Bob Fouts in the booth.

The father and son will call two of the Chargers’ exhibition telecasts beginning with an Aug. 19 game against the Bears in Chicago. They also will handle play-by-play for the Chargers-Phoenix game Sept. 1.

Before Dan Fouts established numerous passing records with the Chargers, his father made a name for himself by broadcasting San Francisco 49er games from 1955-67.
