Sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a charging pit bull and fired shots at a second dog unleashed on them today by a man accused of picking a fight with family members in Lynwood, deputies said.
The second dog, a boxer, retreated after deputies fired two shots but did not strike the animal, Deputy Pat Hunter said. Both dogs were unleashed on the deputies by Wilbur Tojin, 29, accused by his sister and brother of triggering a family dispute at their house in the 3100 block of Virgina Avenue about 2 a.m., Hunter said. Tojin was booked at the Lynwood Station on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
