Union Carbide Corp.: The Danbury, Conn.-based carbon products and chemical company reported second-quarter net income of $186 million, roughly the same as a year ago. Sales increased 7% to $2.3 billion. The results reflected sales growth in all of its lines--chemicals and plastics, industrial gases and carbon products.
