Tenneco Inc: The Houston-based holding company reported second-quarter net income of $180 million, up 17% over last year’s period, which included $37 million from discontinued operations. Revenue rose 11% to $3.7 billion. James L. Ketelsen, chairman and chief executive, said the results were “very encouraging and substantiate the soundness of our restructuring activities.” Tenneco is involved in natural gas pipeline operations, construction, farm equipment, shipbuilding, agriculture and land development, automotive components and packaging.
