Santa Clarita Council Votes to Hire Lobbyist
The Santa Clarita City Council, saying it wants to build up the young city’s political muscle, has hired a lobbyist to represent the city in Los Angeles, Sacramento and--if need be--Washington.
The council agreed Tuesday night to retain Capital Representation Group, a Sacramento-based firm, for $5,000 a month.
One of the first issues the lobbyists will tackle will be proposals by a refuse firm and the city and county of Los Angeles to open a dump in Elsmere Canyon, two miles east of Santa Clarita.
