Fremont to Buy S&L; in Fresno: Fremont General Corp. will acquire Tomar Financial Corp., a Fresno-based savings and loan, under an agreement signed by the two firms. The Santa Monica-based Fremont, which has insurance and financial service operations, will obtain Tomar’s 14 branch offices in California.
