Dave Dravecky of the San Francisco Giants, trying to make a comeback after cancer surgery, pitched a complete game as San Jose beat Reno, 7-3, in a California League game Friday night. Dravecky, in his second start since beginning his rehabilitation, gave up three earned runs and eight hits, walked one and struck out six. He underwent surgery last October to remove a tumor in his upper left arm. In his first start, Dravecky, a left-hander, had a complete-game shutout against Stockton.
