WORLD : Carter in Ghana to Check on Project

ACCRA, Ghana —
Former President Jimmy Carter arrived here today for a two-day visit during which he will review the progress of his Global 2000 agricultural project in Ghana and meet the country’s leader, Jerry Rawlings.
Carter chairs Global 2000, an organization seeking to improve agricultural production in selected Third World countries by providing farmers with technical advice, fertilizer and improved seeds,
Carter was accompanied by his wife, Rosalynn, and other members of Global 2000.
