Culver City : Preservation Panel Seats
The city is seeking members for a new advisory committee that will recommend guidelines for a historic preservation ordinance.
Available are positions for an architect, a historian and four at-large members. The rest of the 15-member committee will consist of representatives from various city commissions, the school district, the Culver City Historical Society, Chamber of Commerce and other community groups.
The committee, created by the Redevelopment Agency in June, will advise the agency and the City Council on criteria for designating historical buildings.
Applicants should live or work in Culver City and have a background or interest in historic preservation, architecture or history. Members are not paid, and the committee may meet more than once a month, said Joan Kassan, grants coordinator for the city.
Applications can be obtained from the Redevelopment Agency, 9696 Culver Blvd., Suite 308, or by calling (213) 202-5787. They are due Aug. 30, and the agency is expected to make selections by Sept. 11, Kassan said.
