A man looking for aluminum cans in an East San Diego alley at 2:30 a.m. Friday discovered the body of a woman in a trash bin, police said.
The unidentified woman was wrapped in comforters and blankets tied at both ends, said police spokesman Dave Cohen. The finder of the body, in the 4100 block of Highland Avenue, at first thought a transient was sleeping in the bin, Cohen said.
“He went back in the morning and noticed the body was still there and called police,” Cohen said.
The cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy is scheduled for today, Cohen said. The woman was described as black and in her late 20s.
