Massachusetts Loses Spot as U.S. Car Theft Capital

BOSTON —
The state of Massachusetts has lost its dubious distinction as the car theft capital of the United States, the Boston Herald reported Friday. An FBI report to be released this weekend will report that the state’s auto theft rate dropped by 3.4%. The new auto theft statistic places Massachusetts behind New Jersey and California.
