3 Hurt in Suspected Gang Shootings
Two suspected gang members and a woman bystander were shot Friday afternoon by two other gang members who approached them in the courtyard of a building in Southwest Los Angeles, police reported.
“They walked up and shot,” Sgt. Randy Minini said, apparently because of a feud. The gunmen fired 12 rounds with handguns, an officer at the scene in the 4400 block of 7th Avenue said.
Two unidentified men in their 20s were taken by helicopter to UCLA Medical Center, where they were reported in fair condition, one with a wound to his groin, and the other with a wound in his buttock.
The third victim, a 37-year-old woman, was shot in the buttocks and taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. A spokesman there said she was in fair condition. Another female bystander went into labor at the scene during the shootings and was taken to Centinela Hospital.
No suspects were in custody, police said.
