Buena Park : Celebrities to Appear at Anti-Drug Rally

Television stars, public officials and Officer McGruff, the crime-fighting dog, will be featured at a rally today at William Peak Park to encourage youngsters to spurn drugs and gangs.

The second annual rally, hosted by the Buena Park Police Department and starting at 10 a.m., is aimed at schoolchildren and is open to the public.

Appearances by Staci Keenan and Chad Allen, who are in the television series “My Two Dads,” will be featured. The rally also will include appearances by the Manhunter Band, a group of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officers; a Santa Ana police officer who is a ventriloquist; Assemblywoman Doris Allen (R-Cypress); state Sen. Cecil N. Green (D-Norwalk) and Buena Park city officials.

The rally will open a two-week program of sessions presented by police officers for fifth and sixth graders to encourage youngsters to say no to drugs and gangs.

William Peak Park is at 7225 El Dorado Drive.
