Secrest Takes lead in Race Across AMerica

Mike Secrest of Scottsdale, Ariz., took the lead after the ninth checkpoint Monday in the Race Across AMerica.
Secrest held a two-minute lead over Paul Solon of Tiburon, Calif., as the riders passed through Holbrook, Ariz. Bob Breedlove of Des Moines, Iowa, the leader after the first day, fell to third, about four minutes off the lead.
The riders were not expected to take a rest stop until just east of Gallup, N.M., early this morning.
