Former “My Sister Sam” cast members Pam Dawber, David Naughton, Jennie O’Hara and Joel Brooks are scheduled to tape on Friday a handgun-control public service announcement dramatizing the loss of slain co-star Rebecca Schaeffer. According to Dawber, NBC, CBS and ABC have expressed interest in airing the spot, which will open with a publicity shot of the five original cast members. “Then it fades into the four of us on an empty sound stage, leaving a space where Rebecca should be,” said Dawber, who added, “This is real life. It’s not about show business. . . . The general public does not understand that we are just people who got lucky and happen to be on television. This was our friend.” Schaeffer, 21, was shot at her Los Angeles apartment July 8. Robert Bardo of Tucson, Ariz., is charged in the case.
