Nicaragua Devalues Currency, Hikes Prices

The Sandinista government, battling to contain hyper-inflation, on Wednesday devalued Nicaragua’s currency by 2.9%. And, in other economic measures, fuel prices were increased by 3% and public transport fares by 2.66%.

It was the 21st devaluation of the cordoba this year and the first since June 12.
