The State : Lower Drunk Limit Gains

Share

Legislation that would lower the blood alcohol level at which a driver is considered legally drunk from .10% to .08% was sent to the Assembly floor on a 14-3 vote of the Assembly Ways and Means Committee in Sacramento. The bill has already passed the Senate, and Gov. George Deukmejian’s staff has indicated the governor supports the concept of lowering the level, although he has not studied the bill in detail.
