A 54-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in Escondido Wednesday when the car she was driving was struck by a bus, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The accident occurred at 4 p.m. on southbound Centre City Parkway near Interstate 15 when the commuter bus plowed into a car stopped in a traffic lane, CHP Officer N. Hirshi said. Another car then crashed into the rear of the bus, Hirshi wrote in his report.

Dorothy Wall of San Diego was taken to Palomar Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition Wednesday night. The bus driver and his seven passengers, along with a passenger in Wall’s car and the driver of the third vehicle, escaped without serious injuries.
