Earl Weaver, who led the Baltimore Orioles...
Earl Weaver, who led the Baltimore Orioles to four American League pennants, has decided to return to managing--with the Gold Coast Suns of the Senior Professional Baseball Assn.
The Senior League, composed of former major league players, begins its first 72-game season Nov. 1. The league has eight franchises, all in Florida. The Suns will play home games at Miami, where Weaver lives, and at Pompano Beach.
Weaver, 59, managed the Orioles from 1968 to 1982. He came out of retirement to manage them again in 1985-86, then retired again.
