The ATP Tour Championship, played in New York since 1977 as the Masters, will be held in Frankfurt, West Germany, beginning in 1990 under terms of a three-year agreement announced today.

“We had a number of cities interested, but our preference has always been the German market because in tennis they’re one of the strongest markets,” said Hamilton Jordan, chief executive officer of the ATP Tour.
