Banks in Palmdale, Simi Valley Robbed by Men Using Notes

Banks in Palmdale and Simi Valley were robbed Friday by apparently unarmed men who handed notes to tellers demanding money, authorities said.

In Simi Valley, a robber described as a white male between 25 and 30 years old wearing a beige cap and blue flannel shirt walked into the Santa Barbara Savings and Loan in the 2800 block of Cochran Street about 4:30 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, Simi Valley Police Lt. Neal Rein said.

The teller turned over $1,500 and the man fled in a small, tan pickup truck, Rein said. Witnesses said the man was about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighed about 180 pounds, Rein said.

In Palmdale, a man described as a Latino passed a note demanding money to a teller at the Bank of America at 830 East Palmdale Blvd. at about 10:30 a.m., Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. The man fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, sheriff’s deputies said.
