As a direct result of (Jerry Hulse’s) article (New Orleans, July 16), my wife and I recently spent a week there. In fact, we stayed at one of the small hotels you recommended and had a very nice time. We also had the chance to stay at a newly refurbished small hotel that we wanted to tell you about. It is called the Rue Royal Inn, at 1006 Royal St., (504) 524-3900. We stayed two nights and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are very large, nicely appointed and some have balconies with great views. The $60-$75 per night rate is exceptional, considering the location and the competition.
