Man Arrested in Two Fatal Shootings

A 34-year-old man was arrested late Sunday after he allegedly shot and killed two women at a Studio City apartment, Los Angeles police said.

The shooting occurred about 5 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 11100 block of Acama Street, Detective Mike Coffey said. One of the victims, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene, Coffey said.

The other victim, 25, was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The victims’ names were not released pending notification of relatives.

The suspect, Luis Palacio, was arrested about 7 p.m. at a pay phone outside a convenience store at the intersection of Rosecrans and Ramona avenues in Hawthorne, Coffey said. Police said they were unsure of a motive, and no other details were available.
