NBC Is Top Network for 64th Straight Time

The NBC ratings juggernaut rolled on last week as the network claimed six of the seven most-watched programs and recorded its 64th consecutive prime-time victory. Ratings released Tuesday by the A. C. Nielsen Co. showed that NBC programs last week had an average audience of 10.4 million households, compared to 9.1 million for ABC and 8.4 million for CBS. The full list of ratings is on Page 10.
* CBS took some consolation in the performance of “Paradise,” the Western series that returned for its second season Sunday night. The two-hour episode was seen in about 14 million homes and ranked as the ninth most-watched show of the week.
