Etna Erupts; No Damage

CATANIA, Sicily — Mt. Etna erupted into a spectacular display, spewing lava and illuminating the night sky but causing no damage, civil defense officials said Tuesday. There was no immediate danger to inhabited areas because the lava has not flowed below 8,500 feet, they said.
