Talk station KFI-AM (640) is planning to spend an hour talking about the impending demise of Los Angeles’ only commercial classical music station, KFAC-FM. On “L.A. Live With Bill Moran” Saturday at 8 p.m., veteran announcer Tom Dixon, who was on KFAC for 41 years, will give his views on KFAC’s upcoming change from classical to rock. Dixon is now an announcer at KKGO-FM (105.1), which on Monday will add classical music to its jazz lineup. KFAC undergoes its controversial format change on Wednesday.
