Notre Dame, coming off a 24-19 victory over Michigan last Saturday, received 57 of 60 first-place votes in the Associated Press’ college football poll.
The other three votes went to second-ranked Miami, which plays Notre Dame on Nov. 25 in the regular-season finale for both teams.
The season-opening loss dropped the Wolverines from No. 2 to No. 5 in voting by a nationwide panel of sportswriters and sportscasters.
