Murray Replaces Curtis on Corridor Board

Share

Mission Viejo Councilman Norman P. Murray has replaced Robert A. Curtis as the city’s representative on the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor board of directors.

The board is one of two overseeing toll road projects in eastern and southern Orange County as part of the county’s Transportation Corridor Agencies.

Murray became the first mayor of Mission Viejo after the community became a city last year. He is a former councilman and mayor of Bellflower in Los Angeles County.

Curtis was replaced by Murray in a power struggle involving supporters of a recall effort against Curtis for supporting the proposed annexation of Aegean Hills by Mission Viejo. Curtis, however, has charged that the recall, supported by the Mission Viejo Co., is an attempt to punish him for questioning some city and company policies supportive of development.

The Transportation Corridor Agencies board adopted a resolution last week praising Curtis for his service.
