Foot Patrols

I read with great interest your article, “Bradley Vetoes $2.5 Million for Foot Patrols as Too Costly” (Metro, Sept. 16).
I could not help but think that Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley is a hypocrite. Only the day before, Mayor Bradley was bemoaning President Bush’s $7.9 billion budget for fighting drugs and crime as not enough. Maybe Mayor Bradley ought to take care of his own city and provide adequate police funding and leadership before criticizing others for not doing enough.
