Liane Hansen, current host of National Public Radio’s “Performance Today” show, will replace Sunday “Weekend Edition” host Susan Stamberg, who is becoming a special correspondent at NPR. Hansen, who has more than 15 years experience as a radio producer, reporter and on-air host, will begin her new job on the news magazine show on Nov. 5. She has been a regular guest host on both “All Things Considered” on weekends and “Weekend Edition” on Sundays, as well as for “Fresh Air” with Terry Gross. Stamberg, who has hosted “Weekend Edition” since its debut in January 1987, will leave the show Oct. 29 and take up her new duties Nov. 1.
